Location-based Routing

AppScaler provides intelligent load balancing to deliver better performance across global data centers by routing client requests to the nearest data center with geolocation-based load balancing for the best user experience.

The following algorithm are supported for GSLB:

  • Round Robin
  • Static Proximity
  • Location (Both custom or predefined)
  • Ratio Round Robin
  • Custom Load
  • Dynamic Metrics
  • Active/Passive

Wide Area Persistence

In an active-active GSLB deployment, wide area persistence is extremely important. AppScaler maintains session integrity to ensure client connections persist across applications and data centers.

In multi-site clustering deployment, the session information synchronized between all the AppScalers within the configuration.

Integrated with Server Load Balancing

AppScaler GSLB can be seamlessly integrated with its SLB, both logically (on one unit) or physically (on different units).

By leveraging the SLB health monitors, AppScaler GSLB can do the layer 7 health moniotoring on backend applications in data centers and eliminate single points of failure and route app traffic away from poorly performing data centers.

Multi-site Clustering Deployment

To ensure high availability across geographic regions or data centers, Multi-site clustering deployment is recommended distribute risk and reduce failure domains.

AppScaler GSLB is deployed in each data center and working as one logic unit to DNS queries, and all the configuration and performance metrics synchronized between all the AppScalers across data centers.
