ASIC SSL Accelerated Card

Secure web traffic by SSL/TLS is now the standard for web applications and web sites. SSL handshake is very CPU intensive and thus has a significant negative impact on performance.

AppScaler can act as SSL/TLS terminator and SSL/TLS processing is offloaded to AppScaler to perform SSL acceleration or SSL termination. With specialized ASIC chip SSL accelerator, AppScaler provides high performance SSL offloading to relieve backend server burden.

End-to-end SSL Offloading

When AppScaler and the backend applications do not reside in the same data center, there is an increased risk of the plain text data being compromised by any individual who manages to get access to the backend applications.

AppScaler supports end-to-end SSL offloading which encrypts the communication between the AppScaler and the backend applications as well.

Client Certificate as Identity

AppScaler fully supports client certificate mapping authentication, which leverages a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Security Certificate to verify the client identity prior to allowing access to protected workloads.

Full TLS Protocol Support

AppScaler supports full stack TLS protocol including TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3, and can automatically convert the incoming TLS 1.2 client connections to legacy TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.0 for the backend applications.

FIPS-compliant

The Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) PUB 140-2 is a computer security standard

FIPS 140 specifies the security requirements for a cryptographic module utilized in a security system. It is the standard that applies to the FIPS-enabled AppScaler appliances, which use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to secure application transactions and Internet communication.
